A festive day
I had a very festive day today. Jamie, his brother and I went to the Christmas Bureau Singalong today, in which about 150 people from about 16 local choirs get together and rehearse for about twenty minutes, and then perform at the Winspear live to radio. It was a full house, and it was immensely satisfying to belt out so many great Christmas songs, including the Hallelujah Chorus. My favourite thing about Christmas music is descant parts. I love them. We sang a ton of them today, including one I didn't know (for the Forest Green 'O Little Town of Bethlehem') and one of my favourites that I haven't sung since children's choir ('God Rest Ye Merry, Gentlemen', one of my all time favourite Christmas carols.) We then went out and got our Christmas tree, which is big and fat and smells delicious. I'm totally pooped after being out way too late last night, but I'm heading to the party house where I will avail myself of one of their extremely comfortable couches and have a nap before going out to paint the town red. Sounds festive to me! Stay tuned for an update on the exploits of me drinking for the first time in over a year. Whee!
