Almost a laundry list.
I'm feeling mildly useful at the moment, because I just fixed Princess Gwyn (also known as Bear, around these parts)'s journal so that the pretty new template works, and despite the fact that I'm the one who screwed it up a little bit in the first place, the fact that I knew how to fix it was rather satisfying. My knowledge of HTML is pitiful and small, but I like the fact that I know enough to help my friends get pretty templates that other, more competent and talented people, design. It's apparently new template season in my circle of friends - I think all of us are getting spring fever, and instead of changing our lives, we just change our journal templates. That's now four of us in the last week who have changed our journal templates. Must be something in the water.

Life is ticking along over here. I'm huffy with the diamond store people because my ring is STILL not ready and I want it back, dammit. I don't care that it's girly and Gollum-y of me, I want my damn ring. I think this whole thing will feel marginally less surreal once the ring is actually permanently on my finger.

My money situation is feeling a little less dire today than it was last week, thanks to the impending arrival of (a) my tax return and (b) the cash out of my pension from my job last year, as well as the sudden appearance of (c) some freelance work for a professor. Oh, plus I think I won ten dollars with the lottery ticket that canoegirl got me for my birthday. Thanks, dude! So, things are looking a little less grim in the short term, despite the large gaping maw of the long term, finances-wise.

My mother is currently in Cambridge for six weeks, and it's a little weird not having her around. We've been emailing back and forth a lot, and as a result she probably knows more about what's going on with my life than she does when she's living three floors away from me, but I'm used to being able to ask her stupid incidental questions and it's disconcerting not to have her here.

In more exciting family news, one of my cousins will be coming to visit in May, and since we haven't seen him in years and years, it will be quite delightful to see him again. He is between me and Bonkles, age wise, and has a brother who is six months younger than me, so the two of them are the only cousins we have close to our age. Unfortunately, they live in Newfoundland (or did, anyway, this one now lives in Montreal, I think), so we didn't get to see too much of them growing up.

And now, this is officially becoming a laundry list of my life, and I hate entries like that, so I'm going to stop so I can go to bed, so I can get up and go to Rhymes that Bind with the Bean and her mother in the morning. Whee! Bean! (And her mother, too, but I can't talk to the Bean on Messenger very effectively. Lengthy conversations of "jiqrowejamgnadf" only go so far.)

If you want all the wedding details that Jamie doesn't get to know about, by the way (mostly involving any future wedding dresses), join the notify list! I'll send all of the top-secret no-Jamie information out over it over the next year and change. (Jamie, this means you can't join the notify list. Please and thank you. I have ways of finding you out!)

Stay tuned for the rage of SJ if I don't get my ring back on Friday, and other thrills and chills in my always exciting life.

And, just to make this a genuine laundry list...I really need to do laundry tomorrow. Memo to self: do laundry.
