8:28 p.m. - 2004-03-18 It's rare these days that I'm home for the night by myself - usually I'm with Jamie, or hanging out with my friends, or off running around. I'm here during the day a lot of the time, usually by myself, so it's strange to be rattling around the house with my dad, who is usually asleep when I'm home and awake. It's nice in some ways - I'm getting much needed laundry done, and catching up on a few things around the house, and the laundry more than anything is reason enough to be home. I could have stayed at Jamie's house for the evening, even though he's not there, but I knew that I'd be hurting for clothes over the weekend if I didn't get on it pretty quickly. (The good news in this conversation is he really would like it if we had a live band at the wedding, so is thus likely to contribute to paying for said live band. Whee!) We have a bit of an odd relationship, and my mum is often the go-between in the whole family, so even though I get along well with my dad it's a bit odd with just the two of us. Usually it's him that travels a lot, so I'm very used to it being just me and my mum. So things continue to trundle along, a little weird and surreal, but settling into a routine. And life was greatly improved today with one simple thing:
