Last Day of Shopping
I am down to the last Christmas present that needs to be knitted. Then, one other needs some earflaps and a pom pom, and I'm finished with all of my Christmas knitting. Woo! I believe my grand total will be thirteen hand knit presents going out this year, which I find rather impressive, thank you very much.

Of course, I've already got the yarn for another seven projects once my Christmas knitting is finished, so it's not like I'm planning on taking early knitting retirement or anything. The good news is, though, three of those projects are actually for me, which is virtually unheard of. Out of the thirty or so things I've knit in the last year, exactly one item was for myself.

So, eight days until Christmas, and things are looking fairly under control. Once I get the choir concerts out of the way this weekend, I've got nothing but work and parties to worry about. Oh, and wrapping presents, but I've made an excellent start on that already. I haven't wrapped any of my knitted stuff yet because I want to take a picture of the whole pile of it for posterity.

A trip to the bookstore and one or two other spots this afternoon should pretty much wrap everything up for me, and I'm looking forward to being finished with shopping with a week to spare. I'm sure I'll think of one or two other things I'd like to pick up, but for the most part, I'm going to try and avoid most shopping locations next week in pursuit of some semblance of sanity.

With presents not happening at our Christmas party this year (it was decided, quite reasonably, that it makes people who don't get any gifts feel left out when the rest of us are exchanging presents like mad), I'm going to have to do some delivery work next week, so that's going to require some organizing to juggle around my work schedule. The good news is I have four days off for Christmas - the 25th to the 28th, the library is closed, and I'm looking forward to some hearty bumming around and some quality Lord of the Rings watching, on the assumption that Jamie will be getting Return of the King Extended Edition for Christmas, which is a pretty sure bet.

But I'd better run if I want to get shopping before people get off work and make South Edmonton Common even more insane than usual. Wish me luck in finding a parking spot!
