The Shoes are Home!
My favourite shoes are home! Hooray! This means the season of festiveness can officially start. The best part is that I finished my Christmas shopping today so I can lounge around and be a social butterfly with no guilt. I'm free! Free like a bird! Or a butterfly, I suppose. I think this paragraph is suffering from too many metaphors.

Our Christmas party is on Sunday, which means I need to make cranberry sauce some time in the next two days. Large challenge that it is. Monday is decorating the tree at my parents', Tuesday is more Christmas movies at my house, Wednesday is a visit to the Beannut household, Thursday is the Christmas Bureau Sing-Along, then suddenly, bam, it's Christmas Eve. Good grief.

Although my shopping is done (yippee!), there is an awful lot of wrapping left to do. There are nine or so presents wrapped and under our tree, which leaves me with approximately SEVEN MILLION left to wrap, since I seem to have bought everything in the universe for people this year. Good lord. I'm not really sure when I'm going to get all of that done, but I'll have to make sure to have something good on TV while I do it or it'll make me really grouchy.

Excellent! Diana is free on Sunday afternoon so we're going to have a Buffy/present wrapping extravaganza. With pancakes! I am definitely enjoying the new holiday traditions that are emerging here at the Den, most of which seem to involve doing something festive and then watching Buffy. Mind you, most of the stuff we do around here seems to consist of doing something and then watching Buffy.

I have another choir concert tomorrow night after having one tonight as well, which is fun but tiring. We had rehearsal every night this week and while I love singing with the orchestra, it's been a huge time committment and I'll be glad to have it finished with. Still, I resented the time suck a lot less the minute the disco ball got going tonight. There's some cool music in this concert, and the audience (sold out both nights, woo!) was very enthusiastic which helps.

Anyway. I'm exhausted and have to work tomorrow, and I keep interrupting my train of thought to talk to Diana about very very random things, so I think I better quit while I'm ahead and go read my Buffy book while listening to these excerpts from the Phantom movie. Because I am nothing if not a gigantic nerd.
